National Tree Week is was set up here by the Tree Council of Ireland in 1985, and has been promoted in partnership with Coillte since 1989. This year, National Tree Week is taking place between Sunday 21st March and Saturday 27th March.
At Ardcarne Garden Centre we have usually embraced this week by inviting customers to free events centred around tree panting, pruning and all things arboreal. Unfortunately, with current restrictions in place this isn't possible this year, however there's no better way to celebrate National Tree Week than to plant a tree of your own, whether it be a mighty oak (or at least the makings of one), a productive fruit tree or something smaller.
Whatever size garden you have we're sure we have a tree that is suitable for you, so if you're looking to join in, why not browse our tree selection and if you have any questions concerning planting or suitability, remember our experienced, friendly staff are always available to help.
The Tree Council of Ireland are also running a variety of free online webinars with details of the “Plant for the Planet” challenge, how to look after veteran trees, managing Irish Woodlands and much more. If you'd like to register for any or all of the free webinars you can check out the details and register here >>>
